Description

The Vallero pepper originates from Buenaventura in Chihuahua, Mexico. It is one of the best chili peppers to use for making the famous Mexican dish called Chile Colorado. The pepper has a rich flavour that has a hint of sweetness and earthy undertones, similar to Pasillas and Anchos. It turns chocolate brown when ripe. The peppers are about 3 cm in width and 15 cm in length. They are medium hot and very versatile. Great for roasting when still green. After ripening and brown, they are a great for use in sauces and salsas. They dry easily and are perfect for chili flakes or powder. Plant height is around 1 – 1,2 meters.
